A few posts ago, I mentioned I started listening to Audible books. Well, I’m a couple of months in now and I gotta say, I love it! I should have done this sooner. But frankly, I was to cheap. I could not gel with the idea of paying for a subscription for books.

But what I failed to realize then was that listening to books is a completely different experience than reading it. I find both very gratifying and satisfying. But if I were to be honest with myself, I prefer to read fiction. It’s entertaining, fast, and it lets my imagination soar.

With audio books, what I’m finding is that I don’t have to read non-fiction books. I can listen to them. It always takes me much longer to read non-fiction and I find that I have to put it down for a time. Then I forget and I lose interest. When I remember, I have to start over. But listening to non-fiction books is a game changer! I can “read”/listen to all these books and feel like I’m getting educated. I love it!

This post is because I just finished listening to Feeding the Soul, by Tabitha Brown. Can I just say this? It’s awesome! The author reads the book and she goes through the experiences she’s had in her life to bring her where she’s at now. I wouldn’t consider it a memoire, but a motivational book. I follow Ms. Brown on Facebook and what attracted me to her was her humor while she was cooking. I just loved her energy. I’m not vegan, but I like good food and her food looked good so I started following. But the longer I followed, I realized her platform is not just about food, but sharing positivity. I like that. When her book came out, I had to get it.

But, it has sat on my shelf cause I have a hard time starting non-fiction books. But when I saw she had an audio version, I was all over it. Glad I did too. Listening to Feeding the Soul, was like sitting with a friend and listening to her tell stories, give advice, and give encouragement. It was so enjoyable, I was a little sad when the book ended.

I would definitely recommend Feeding the Soul. If you’d like to check it out, here’s an Amazon link to the audio book.
