Gathering Storm is thunder clappin’!
Cecily Magnon is a good friend of Books, Blogs, & Bits and I’ve noticed I have not posted a book from Cecily. Ugh! Total brain fart on my part. Well, I’m about to fix that right now.
If you have not already checked out Cecily, you will love her. The Order of the Anakim series has been compared to Mortal Instruments and I can totally see why. The foundation of the series is about angel descendants battling demons in the urban city of San Francisco. There is a main character, but the series is really about The Order as a group — their friendship with each other, loyalty, and all too human struggles. There will be times you are cheering for the characters and times you’ll be brought to tears.
I am currently re-reading the book and I love it just as much as the first, second, and third time I read it in the past. The battle between good vs. evil is a classic and timeless theme that runs through the entire series. It’s like a good movie, it just never gets old.
In Gathering Storm, prepare to meet Elysa Amalfi and Jarron. The story focuses on these two characters. Elysa is just coming into awareness of The Order and her connection to them. Of course there is romance. Because urban fantasy is not the same without the hot guy and hot gal’s attraction adding to the chaos and tension all around them. The story moves fast and will take you through heart breaking choices.
