Wolfed
I just finished Leia Stone’s Wolfed series. It’s a quick read with only two books. To preface this, Leia Stone is one of my favorite authors. I think I’ve read just about every series she has. The woman can do no wrong in my book. If I were to ever meet her, I would totally geek out. Let’s just say, this would be really embarrassing because I’m a midlifer and would probably tinkle in my pants.
Anyways, back to the review.
I preferred, the second book of the series better. Why?
Book 1-Cursed by Love was fine. It was trying to establish the reincarnation piece of the story and the main conflict for the love story between the main characters, but it stretched just a little too long for me. But then! In comes Book 2 and I inhaled the darn thing. I was done reading within a few hours.
Book 2-Promised to Him, starts with the main character in the grips of just about giving up. So, of course she throws caution to the wind and that’s when things take off.
The great thing I love about Leia Stone‘s books is that they all end in HEA or happily ever after. It’s so fitting with her books, because she does take her characters through the ringer. I would have to say that I’ve cried at least once with all her serieses. She’s a master with getting a reader attached to a certain character and then ripping the reader’s heart out with an event in the book that will leave the reader’s mouth hanging open. Yes, fun times! I love these kinds of books. This is why readers become attached to their favorite reads. I mean we literally leave a piece of ourselves in it.
I want to be like her… No worries. I’m not a stalker. I just want to be able to write and craft like her. Her books have a certain ease to it. And even though I know it will all end well, I am still left clutching my ipad until that HEA moment comes. I’d like that same kind of flow in my books.
Wolfed 1 & 2 – is a recommend. It’s a quick read with only 2 books in the series. This would be perfect for a weekend read when you don’t have plans and just want to chill at home.
Most of my reviews on this blog has been about my personal development reads. I tend to leave star reviews on Goodreads for my fiction reads, but I don’t leave written reviews there. I had fun with this post though. Hmm… maybe I can do more fiction written reviews here. Mix it up.
