After trying to read TOG, I took a few days off from reading. I felt like I needed a fresh start to give my brain a reboot. Sometimes I get into these reading sprints, where I’m going from one series to the next and I start to mix the stories in my head. I think this also happens because I tend to read in the same fiction genre — fantasy and urban fantasy.

As with any genre there are “standard” story tropes. I think it’s fabulous that each author spins these tropes into different story lines, but for the most part and as an avid reader there is definitely a pattern I expect. It’s both comforting and exciting because this is where the craft of the plot twist can be expertly devised.

I’m happy to say that I’m back to reading and I am soooo happy that I’m enjoying the series I’m currently living in. I’ll review the series probably next week when I finish the third book, but for now, I am immersed in the Supernatural Academy series, by Jaymin Eve. If you are a fan of magic in a boarding school type setting, you would like this book. Just a heads up, this would be the college version of that magical boarding school though. As with any college or university — there’s cursing, partying and sex.

Also, and because I like to balance my fun reads with my learning ‘reads’, I am also listening to Gabrielle Bernstein’s, Super Attractor. This one is all about how to become a master at manifesting. I’ll review this in a future post also. It’s pretty good. I always enjoy when the author is also the narrator.

That’s it for now. Happy reading to you!
