Enter the world of OATHBREAKER

Some of you may know, but for those that don’t, Cecily Magnon is my nom de plume. But it’s still all me.

After a long time away from publishing fiction, releasing Oathbreaker feels both exciting and terrifying — in the best way. There’s something strange about returning to storytelling after being away. You carry more experience into the work, but also more doubt. And definitely, more pressure to create something meaningful.

I think a part of it is that I’m also older. It’s been years since I last released a story and I’ve changed. My taste in stories have changed. My writing has changed for better or worse.

Oathbreaker is my way of stepping back out and dipping my toe back in.

It’s a darker fantasy story centered around broken vows, impossible choices, and the cost of holding onto your humanity when the world demands otherwise. At its core, though, it’s still about people, about loyalty, identity, and what happens when duty collides with conscience.

This release also marks an important step for me creatively. As you know from my prior posts, I’m also trying to seriously build 12 Angels Publishing. I no longer want it to be just a hobby. Oathbreaker for me is not just publishing a story, but rebuilding momentum as a writer again and proving to myself that I can do it.

Right now, I’m feeling pretty good about this journey and I’m very proud of Oathbreaker. I hope you enjoy it and there will be other short stories coming out. (I’m hoping this year).

If you enjoy fantasy with mythic undertones, morally gray characters, and emotional weight, Oathbreaker might be for you.
